\nThe Europen Heat Pump Association (EHPA) is active in Brussels to promote heat pump technology as an environmentally sustainable alternative as well as to increase the use of renewable energy sources.<\/p>\n

The internationally accepted EHPA quality mark certifies the efficiency and high quality of heat pumps.<\/p>\n

How to obtain<\/strong> the EHPA certificate
\nTo obtain the EHPA certificate, it is necessary to pass numerous quality tests at authorized institutions recognized by the association. The EHPA association provides a large list of institutions and centers authorized to issue its certification, at the top of this list is WPZ. WPZ tests are the most rigorous and difficult to pass, and therefore a certification earned from them is the most prestigious. Therefore, Templari decided to turn to the WPZ institute to certify Kita heat pumps.<\/p>\n

What is WPZ<\/strong>
\nAuthorized testing and certification center and provides comprehensive testing for manufacturers and distributors. Machine performance testing includes determination of heating capacity and calculation of COP (coefficient of performance, or coefficient of performance) and SCOP (seasonal COP), 2 of the most important values for understanding the quality of the device under consideration.<\/p>\n

How to interpret the data<\/strong>
\nThe WPZ tests provided important comparison data. COP, which represents the ratio between the energy used in operating the heat pump and the energy produced in generating heat, is used as a term of comparison among machines in the world in order to rank them, and to make the comparison more linear all values are recorded in the constant production of 35\u00b0C against an outdoor temperature of 2\u00b0C. Kita Templari achieved a COP of 4.29.However, this value provides only a partial assessment of the quality of the heat pump. In fact, the SCOP figure, or Seasonal COP, must also be taken into account.This figure is derived by taking into account the prolonged operation of the heat pump over time, and is therefore also conditioned by the performance obtained from -10\u00b0C to +15\u00b0C outdoor air, defrosting cycles and the unit’s ability to adapt to changing operating conditions. For Kita Templari the SCOP is 4.77<\/strong>, a value that can compete with the performance of the much more expensive geothermal systems.
\nThe combination of all these data brings us to a percentage Primary Efficiency Coefficient, which for Kita Templari is 190.7%<\/strong>, a value that allows it to fall largely within the highest energy class A+++<\/strong>.
\nThe same WPZ tests carried out under high temperature operating conditions (55\u00b0C) guarantee the versatility of Kita heat pumps in providing high temperatures in the face of -20\u00b0C outside<\/strong>, without the need for any integration. The Kita heat pump has a very high SCOP value even at 55\u00b0C of 3.74.<\/p>\n

Templari Kita heat pumps in heating and DHW production have demonstrated, by passing WPZ tests, that they perform well enough to compete with<\/p>\n

geothermal energy for a significantly lower investment.The percentage coefficient of performance value of 190.7 percent puts Kita in energy class A+++, the highest and most efficient class that results in greater savings and minimal pollution.
\nHowever, energy labels currently show class A++.<\/p>\n

This is due to the fact that the current regulation of energy classes in heat pumps does not allow, before 2019, the A+++ category to be indicated on the label accompanying these products<\/p>\n

How to read energy labels<\/strong>
\nThe energy label, or energy label, summarizes the energy efficiency of a product and ensures that consumers are available to view accurate comparative information. It can already be seen that heat pumps are at the top of this classification. The product data sheet, on the other hand, contains technical parameters, data on annual consumption, installation and maintenance. The purpose of the European measure is to inform and guide the user toward the most energy-efficient heating and DHW production technologies in order to reduce pollutant emissions and to promote sustainable development.<\/p>\n
