Thermostatic Mixer
Thermostatic mixers are used in solar heating systems for the production of sanitary hot water.
Get quoteThe mixing function is to maintain a constant temperature of the mixed water sent for use. Thus they allow one to maintain the desired temperature according to the preset values in spite of the change in pressure or temperature of hot and cold water or the flow rate. They also have an anti-scald safety device, that is, the hot water flow is interrupted when there is a lack of cold water entering. They can operate continuously.
Operating Principle
The operating principle of the mixer is determined by the temperature sensor placed inside and located at the mixed water outlet. The compression/expansion of the thermostatic element determines the sliding of a piston within the body that generates the proper mixing of hot and cold water entering from the network. In this way the mixer adjusts the preset temperature totally automatically even when pressure changes occur due to the removal of hot or cold water from other uses, or to changes in inlet temperature.
